When Sending Files To Print, Be Sure To Zip Them | Purely Digital

8th August 2009

Before you email or upload a file, try compressing it with the inbuilt Compress function from within Mac OS or Zip in Windows. This creates a ZIP file that shrinks the original file size, smaller files mean faster file transfers.

You can even compress several different files into just one single archive, this makes for easier uploading of multiple files.

The important advantage with ‘zipping’ is that any problems with the file and any corruption that may have occurred when the file was transferred via the web are spotted early, as the file will not expand at the other end.

If you receive a ZIP file on your Mac just double – click and Mac OS will automatically decompress it.

I was really impressed by the quality and the speed at which you work. I've finally found a good printer!!! Hurrah!
